Why is Fostering Self-Esteem Important in Child Development?
 
· Generally, children with healthy self-esteem have an enhanced sense of self-worth

· They view the glass as half full, not half empty
· Children with healthy self-esteem may readily adapt to new situations and accept new challenges
· Academically, their feelings of self-worth may contribute to success and they may strive to achieve their personal best
· They may be more willing to set lofty goals and work toward their attainment
· They are better able to deal with difficult situations
· Children may have the confidence to choose the right path and make a wise decision
