Week of Respect
WEEK OF RESPECT
OCTOBER 3-OCTOBER 7, 2022
The Anti-Bullying Bill of Rights Act has designated the first week of October as the Week of Respect. The aim of this week is to promote respect, kindness, and character development as a means of preventing bullying.
During the Week of Respect our students will participate in classroom activities coupled with schoolwide activities.
WEEK OF RESPECT SCHOOLWIDE ACTIVITIES
Monday, October 3:
BLUE SHIRT DAY - WORLD DAY OF BULLYING
STOMP OUT BULLYING: By wearing a blue shirt, we join together to stop bullying and cyberbullying.
Simple Ways to show KINDNESS:
Pay someone an honest compliment.
Listen to someone’s story.
Tell your friends your favorite thing about them.
Include others who are often on their own.
Tuesday, October 4:
Everyone Counts Day
Students and Staff wear clothing with a number on it.
Let’s promote respect for others with Random Acts of Kindness:
Smile at someone; give someone a compliment; eat lunch with someone new;
Do a kind act every day; help another student make friends; respect others.
Wednesday, October 5:
School is a Safe Place to Be Yourself
Dare to be different: Wear Mismatched clothes.
WE ARE ALL PEOPLE AND WE MUST HONOR OUR DIFFERENCES AND RESPECT AND CELEBRATE OUR SIMILARITIES.
Thursday, October 6
Hero Day
Help, Encourage, and Respect Others. Have a positive attitude and look for the good qualities in others.
Friday, October 7
Stand Up Against Bullying
School spirit day
Bullying can happen anywhere. Be an upstander. If you see bullying happening, do not become part of it; Stand up for a friend.
